UK rethinking financing projects

Awami League won in all the seats of the parliament in this farcical election. More than 150 people died and scores of people lost their limbs and properties in the political violence.
We have learnt from a report published in a daily that Britain is providing money under two projects for the development of parliament. Bangladesh received 274.9 million US dollar in the 2012-13 and it is supposed to receive 265 million US dollar in the FY 2014-15. But Britain is now rethinking the option of releasing the money as democracy is totally absent in the parliament!
If the other development partners do the same as Britain, Sheikh Hasina might say at the end of the year that “our country has improved a lot without receiving any support from development partners.”
