Use deterrent punishment against rapists

The recent increase in rape incidents proves that the life of women has become more insecure in both rural and urban areas of Bangladesh. Statistics shows that some 812 incidents of rape occurred in 2013. The above mentioned statistics of rape cases is the tip of the iceberg since many such cases remain unreported. Though the civil society members and the media are protesting this heinous crime and demanding punishment, identity of the perpetrators are remaining unpunished in almost all the cases. This encourages them to commit this crime again and again.

This terrifying violence against women is affecting our economy adversely. We want harsh, deterrent punishment against the perpetrators of this abominable crime.
