WifiDroid

Confucius said, "Why use cables, when you can do without?" Cables are annoying and connecting your phone to the computer every time you want to upload stuff from your phone to your computer or from your computer to your phone can get annoying.
Now, wireless usually means either Bluetooth or WiFi. Bluetooth is slow and a lot less secure than WiFi and hence transferring a lot of data via Bluetooth can get frustrating. It's a lot faster to transfer files over WiFi and all you need is this one tiny app from the Google Play Store.
WifiDroid is simple enough to use. Just install it from the play store and launch the app. Start transferring. The app will give you a URL that you an paste in your computer's browser. The rest is easy and intuitive.
Note: Both the laptop and the phone needs to be in a WiFi network for this to work. (Use connectify or something similar to turn your laptop into a WiFi hotspot). This app works best with Google Chrome. Folder uploads are not supported on the other browsers yet.
There are a bunch of apps that let you transfer files over WiFi, but I found this the most convenient given its small size and the fact that it's free. The user interface is good, but there are better. Wifi File Transfer is more popular with a fancier UI providing the same features, but there is a 5mb restriction on file transfers there unless you get the pro version which costs money. You can't go wrong with WifiDroid.
