Snowden fails to win no-extradition pledge

A Norwegian court yesterday dismissed a fresh bid by fugitive whistleblower Edward Snowden to win assurances he would not be extradited to the US should he come to Norway to collect an award. The Oslo appeals court said it was not competent to offer such a pre-emptive guarantee since Snowden had not set foot in Norway and Washington had not submitted a formal request for his extradition.
