Stop unfair means in exams or face action

Education minister warns at Moulvibazar as HSC examinations near

State Minister for Education Ehsanul Haque Milan has said the government has taken up the issue of stopping cheating in public examinations as a challenge.

Government steps in this regard produced results during the last SSC, HSC and degree examinations, he said.

He was addressing a divisional level meeting of officials and educationists, held at the Saifur Rahman Auditorium here on May 22.

Organised jointly by the Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Sylhet and Moulvibazar district administration, the meeting ws presided over by Moulvibazar Deputy Commissioner M Mukhlesur Rahman. M Naser Rahman MP, M M Shaheen MP and Prof Abdur Rahman, Chairman of the Board also attended the meeting.

Officials of Moulvibazar, Hobiganj, Sunamganj and Sylhet district administrations and principals and teachers of different government and non-government colleges under Sylhet divisional attended the meeting.

Milan said prevention of unfair means in public examinations is a continuous process and needs a strong commitment of teachers and guardians. He urged the teachers and officials to give serious attention to prevent unfair means in the ensuing HSC examination beginning on May 29.

Teachers found negligent to duty as invigilators should be punished, he said.

Answering questions he said the government will give full security to teachers during he examinations and no teacher will lose his job for lower percentage of pass in their college.
