Bombs hurled 'to snatch arms' from Khulna police

According to police and eye witnesses, a gang exploded two hand bombs at the office when a meeting of launch owners and workers was going on.

None was hurt in the explosions that rocked the entire Skid Ghat area, creating panic among the people.

Police later recovered a live hand bomb from near the office.

A River Traffic Police outpost is beside the association office, where there were many armed policemen. Police officials said the bomb attack could be an attempt by miscreants to snatch arms from police. But the attempt was failed as Sergeant Nausher Osman chased the miscreants.

On Thursday, another bomb was hurled at a security guard of Agrani Bank at Clay Road to snatch his firearm. The guard was seriously injured.
