Tk 233 cr Barisal City Corpn Budget
The Barisal City Corporation (BCC) has announced its first budget of over Tk 233 core for fiscal 2003-4 with a target to build the new corporation as a metropolitan city.
Only Tk 17 core of the budget will come from BCC's revenue income and the rest Tk 206 core from government grants and other sources.
No new tax has been imposed.
Advocate Majibur Rahman Sarwar MP, the newly elected first mayor of the BCC, announced the proposed budget on Monday.
The highest allocation of Tk 100 core has been kept for development of the newly included areas of BCC.
Other allocations include Tk 45 core for water supply, Tk 11 core for health care projects, Tk 10 crore for master plan and beautification, Tk five crore for children's park, Tk 10 crore for housing, Tk 1 core for setting up of a zoo and Tk two crore for truck terminals.
