One killed, 30 hurt in Barisal road accident
One person was killed and 30 people were injured as two night coaches fell into roadside ditches after one hit the other from behind at Kasemabad under Gournadi police station in Barisal on Wednesday.
The dead was identified as bus helper Kismat Hossain, 26, who died on the spot, police said.
The injured include bus helper Zahirul Islam, Government BM College teacher Shahida Naznin, Md Shamim, Sultan, Baker Ali, Abdus Samad, Shahin, Abu Arshad, Ashraf Ali, Abu Naim, Jesmine, Awlad Hossain, Shah Alam, Zahid and Ali Hossain.
Twelve of them were admitted to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital. Four of them were in critical condition, hospital sources said.
The accident took place at about 4:30 am. Police with the help of local people rescued the injured passengers and sent them to hospital.
