64 hurt in 2 road mishaps in Mymensingh

Police said 50 people were injured when a Dhaka-bound bus skidded off the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at Churkhai is the Sadar upazila at about 3.15 pm yesterday. It was trying to overtake another bus.

Of the injured, 16 including seven women were admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) in critical conditions. They are Wazed Ali, Nurul Haq, Khaer, Emdadul, Jewel, Zahed Ali, Babul Miah, Anjali, Delwar Miah, Nurunnahar, Amena Khatun, Riza, Nazma Begum, Lakuma, Shuva and Noor Muhammed. The rest were given first aid at MMCH and at Community Based Medical College (CBMC).

In another accident at about 10.30 Friday, 14 hide traders were injured when their hide-laden truck from Trishal turned upside down near Shanbhuganj Bazar. All have been admitted to MMCH.
