Family threaten to withdraw case
Sajeda Begum, widow of slain BNP leader Ansar Ali Biswas and mother of Shakiur Rahman, a madrassah teacher has become totally frustrated observing police inaction to nab the culprits. She asked this correspondent," Why the killers are moving free even after one month of killing of my husband and son?"
Meanwhile, local member of parliament (MP) Kari Salimul Huq Kamal, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Harisuddin and Superintendent of Police (SP) Biswas Afzal Hossain already asked police to nab the criminals immediately.
Ansar Ali Biswas and his son Shakiur Rahman were killed by rivals on the night of January 7 following rivalry between Shalikha union BNP President Atiar Rahman Biswas and its former president Abu Sayeed of Shorshuna village over establishment of supremacy in their area.
Ansar Ali and his son belonging to Atiar Rahman's group came under attack while they were sitting in a tea stall at about 6-30 pm on the fateful day at a bazaar at Shorshuna village in Shalikha upazila, police and witnesses said.
On contact, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shalika police station told that police hunt was going on to nab the culprits here and the adjoining districts.
