15 hurt in clashes over land
At lest 15 people including four women were injured in clashes over lands at two villages in the Sadar and Assassumi upazilas on Saturday and the day before.
Police said supporters of Dipankar Sarkar and Sanjib Shosh clashed at Debnagar village on saturday, leaving ten people injured.
The injured were admitted to Satkhira Sadar Hospital. They include Samjib Shosh, Manik Ghosh, Paritosh Ghosh, Dulal, Santosh Ghosh, Nimai Shosh and Bijon Ghosh. A case has been filed.
In the other clash at Mariala village in Assassami on the day before, at least five people including four women were injured.
The injured are Rozina, Mariam Bibi, Rashida, Mazida and Alam. They were admitted to Assassin Upazila Health complex.
The clash resulted from a land dispute between Amir Ali of Hajrakhali village and Mahsin Ali of Mariafa village.
