Half-day hartal observed at Mohimaganj

The hartal was observed protesting a layoff decision in Rangpur Sugar Mills, Gaibandha.

During hartal hours all shops and establishments remained closed. Vehicular traffic went off the road. A protest procession paraded the main streets following a meeting at the cross road point.

The meeting was presided over by MCCI President Nazir Hossain Prodhan. The meeting demanded withdrawal of layoff decision, otherwise, 'a tougher agitation programme including national highway and rail blockade' will follow, the meeting further declared.
