Fake NGO men held for swindling

They two -- Maruf Ahamed and Abdul Latif of Grameen Progoti Sangstha-- came to the village one month back and started taking 'deposits' from poor people, promising them bigger loans and other facility.

On Thursday, the depositors became suspicious as they attempted to flee in a microbus.

They detained the two and called police, who arrested them.

One of the two hails from Bogra and another from Tangail, police said.
