45 hurt in Barisal bus plunge
At least 45 people were injured, nine of them critically, when a bus fell into a roadside ditch at Mirganj on the Babuganj-Muladi road on Tuesday.
The bus (Dhaka-Metro-Ba-1236) belonging to Bismillah Poribahan met with the accident while crossing a bailey bridge, police and witnesses said.
Nine of the critically injured were taken to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital. They are Rupali (18), Farida Begum (20), Mossarraf (44), Basudev (25), Habibur Rahman (40), Jahanara Begum (38), Enamul Huq (41) Ayub Ali (38) and Ashraf Dewan (26).
The rest were treated at local hospitals and clinics.
