Students barricade road, ransack buses at Gournadi

Mizanur Rahman and Jahangir Alom were going to Gournadi from Barisal in a bus in the morning. They had an altercation with conductors over fate.

As the teachers reached the college with injuries, angry students came out. Joined by local people, they stopped two buses passing by, beat their staff, damaged the vehicles and put up barricades on the road.

Yesterday, transport leaders from Barisal went to Mahilara to resolve the matter. A meeting of transport leaders, college authorities and officials was continuing and plying of local buses on the route remain suspended when the report was filed at about 2 pm yesterday.
