KMP havilder's death in bomb attack: FIR filed

Two persons named Haroon and Bulbul who were picked up from the spot are also undergoing treatment at the KMCH prison cell. They fell sick after being interrogated by the joint forces.

A bomb explosion smashed Havilder Akram's head injuring three other constables of a five-member patrol party who were on duty at that time. Akram's helmet was found beside the body although he did not wear it during the incident, said injured constables. Police recovered two pairs of foot wears and splinters of bomb from the spot.

Akram's 303 rifle is also missing, said an officer of Sonadanga thana.

The body was sent to his village at Bagmara in Bagerhat Sadar thana where he will be buried at his family graveyard.

The murderers are outlaws, KMP DC Tamizuddin Ahmed told this correspondent.

With Havilder Akram's death, the number of police killed by outlaws in five districts of Khulna division in two years stands at 18.
