Move to seize 6 'unfit' launches
The Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) here asked police to seize six passenger launches due to lack of fitness route permit or any valid document, according to the Patuakhali River Port office sources.
The launches are ML Satata (M No-4 and 28), ML Meghner Par (M No-1300), ML Kamal (M-6513), ML Padmar Par (M-4471), ML Momataj (M-5016) and ML Shuktara-2 (M-5872). First four launches are plying along the Betagi-Barguna via Pathorghata route and the rest two are plying along the Kalapara-Khaprabhanga route.
The load capacity of the launches is below 50.
