Three abducted fishermen rescued

Three fishermen who were abducted from Rusho canal in the Sundarbans last Wednesday were rescued after five days of the incident on Monday.

Police told this correspondent pirates abducted the fishermen named Akkaj Ali, Rashidul Islam and Abul Kalam of Kaikhali village in Shyamnagar upazila demanding ransom amounting to two lakh taka. After the incident police launched a drive to rescue the abducted fishermen and acting on a tip-off police raided Chunkari canal area and rescued them while the pirates fled away.
