Ministers buying vote AL leader Nasim alleges

He was addressing as chief guest an election projection meeting at Tangail town, organised for AL-backed municipal chairman candidate Shawkat Ali Talukdar Thursday evening.

Nasim also alleged that ruling party leaders and activists are threatening voters to vote for their candidates.

The meeting was presided over by Shamsur Rahman Khan, president of Tangail distric AL. It was addressed by, among others, central AL leader Abdul Latif Siddiki, Abdus Salam Khan, Tangail district AL secretary Fazlur Rahman Faruk and Alamgir Khan.

Municipal polls at Tangail will be held on May 10.

Meanwhile five chairman candidates out of six in Durgapur Poura polls in Netrakona have demand army deployment.

They are Kamal Pasha of AL and independent candidates Rawshan Ali, Advocate Mosharaf Hossain Mreedha, Joynal Abadin and Azizur Rahman Babul.

In a joint application to Election Commission and the DC Netrakona, they alleged that ruling party candidate Subendu Sarkar Pintu and his supporters are intimidating voters to cast votes in favour of their candidates.
