Workshop on Filaria held at Syedpur

Ten Japanese volunteers discussed treatment facilities with nurses at the hospital and steps for eliminating the disease from the country.

Takasi Sakamoto, Resident Representative of JAICA (Japan International Co-operation Agency), inaugurated the workshop as chief guest. Nilphamari Civil Surgeon Nazrul Islam, health ministry Deputy Secretary Md Abdul Haq and other officials from Dhaka attended the workshop. Founder of the hospital, Dr Moazzem Hossen, gave a brief description on treatment facilities at the hospital.

Speaking on the occasion, Takasi Sakamoto expressed his concern at the spread of Failaria in northern part of the country. He appreciated the facilities at the hospital and promised more Japanese assistance for its development.
