Govt should resign after failure in OIC: Motia

The country lost the contest for the post of OIC Secretary General due to nomination of a "controversial candidate", she told a conference of Bangladesh Chhatra League, student front of opposition Awami League, held at Korotia Sa'dat College on Sunday.

The government had nominated Prime Minister's Parliamentary Affairs Advisor Salauddibn Kader Chowdhury to contest for the post.

"This (selection of a controversial candidate) is not unusual for the BNP-Jamaat government as they have records of harbouring terrorists", she said.

Terrorism spread in the country under their rule as they are protecting and sheltering terrorists to stay in power.

"Chittagong has become a city of abduction and Khulna a city of killings" she said.

Presided over by Wajad Ali Miadali, convenor of Koratia Sa'dat College BCL, it was addressed by, among others, Fazlur Rahman Faruk, general secretary of Tangail Awami League and party leader Khondakar Abdul Batan, central BCL president Liakat Shikdar and leader Faruk Hossem Manik, Juba League organising secretary Advocate Mamunur Rashid and district BCL secretary Abdur Rouf.
