'Distortion' of history Protested

Freedom fighters here on Thursday protested the distortion of history of the Liberation War of Bangladesh by the present government.

They brought out a procession in the town and held a meeting in front of the deputy commissioner's (DC's) office.

Freedom fighter Abdus Salam Bulu presided over the meeting, while Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD-Inu) joint secretary and freedom fighter Iqbal Hossain, Manikganj district Awami League secretary and freedom fighter Gazi Kamrul Huda Selim, freedom fighters advocate Abdus Salam and Samsul Alam addressed, among others..

The speakers said the countrymen were united and fought for liberation of the nation after the proclamation of independence by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

They also urged the freedom fighters to wage an agitation for implementation of their 26-point demand.
