CU VC's office Locked by JCD

JCD activists were protesting the appointment of a Jamaat-backed teacher in the Finance department as its chairman violating university rules.

A meeting was held and a procession was also brought out on the campus.

The university authorities appointed Dr Md Zahiral Haq the chairman of the Finance department defying seniority rule. As per seniority it was Dr ANM Abdul Moktadir's turn to become the chairman.

Earlier, controversial Dr Md Zahiral Haq was sacked from the university in 1995 for an incident of question paper leakage. He got back his job during Justice Shahabuddin's regime on special consideration.

Dr ANM Abdul Moktadir handed over a complaint to Pro VC Professor Dr M Shamsuddin on the day seeking justice. The VC is now staying in Dhaka.
