Zia fertiliser stops prodn
The technical fault developed due to shortage of gas, officials at the factory claimed.
It will suffer a production loss of about 15,000 tonnes of Urea in the nine days, sources said.
It is learnt that the factory was supposed to stop production on July 10 for repair of its Amonia plant. But the authorities ran it with the fault for seven days. Finally it grind to a halt on Saturday.
Production in the factory was interrupted several times despite overhauling for about 65 days in the last financial year, sources said.
The factory produced 1500 to 1600 tonnes of Urea eertiliser a day.
