Abductor's house set on fire after victim's rescue from Meherpur

The house of an alleged abductor was set on fire by mob at Nawdapara village in Gangni upazila, Meherpur after rescuing a rice trader on Thursday.

A gang of outlaws abducted Kamruzzaman, 30, son of Hazrat Master of Adabaria in Daulatpur upazila from his house on Tuesday night, according to Meherpur police.

The miscreants took the victim to Nawdapara and demanded

TK 4 lakh as extortion for his release.

Meanwhile, Kamruzzaman broke open the window of Asadul's house where he was confined and came to Nawdapara High School at about 10 am on the day. At this stage, students, teachers and villagers ransacked and set on fire Asadul's house.

On information, Gangni police rushed to the spot, but Asadul escaped.

A case was filed with Gangni police station.
