Pirojpur ASP's house searched for cops' killer
A 15-member Rab team from Dhaka led by Maj. Ekramul Karim searched the house of Pirojpur Additional Police Superintendent ABM Sayedullah on Wednesday in its search for Leon, an accused in the murder of two police officials in the capital.
ASI Aminul Islam and Habilder Liakat Hossain were killed in Motijheel in Dhaka allegedly by activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) led by Tanzil on June 20.
Police sources said Leon is a friend of ASP Sayedullah's son Ahmed.
The Rab team cordoned the ASP's house in CI Para area of Pirojpur district town at about noon.
But there was none at the locked house. Sayedullah went to Kishoreganj to give witness in a case and his family is in Dhaka.
RAB team collected keys from caretaker Habibur Rahman and searched the house but found none.
Ahmed normally stays in Dhaka but he was in Pirojpur from end of June till July 19, the police sources said.
