8 killers to die in Netrakona

In a case seven killers got life term imprisonment by Netrakona Additional District and Sessions Judge Court. They were also fined each Tk 5,000, in default, to suffer five months more imprisonment.

The convicts are Nazrul Islam, Abdul Quddus, Mofazzal Hossain, Chandon Mia, Idris Mia, Alkas Mia and Shamsu Mia, all of Sonapara village in Netrakona Sadar upazila.

On November 24 in 2000, the convicts killed Ershad Mia due to previous enmity after entering into his house.

In another case, one person was sentenced to life term imprisonment by the aforesaid court for killing his wife.

The convict is Sajal Haque of Sonajur village in Atpara upazila.

On June 9 in 2002, the convict killed his wife Anjana Akter and fell her body in the Mogra river.

After two days police recovered the body.

Judge Aminul Islam pronounced both the verdict.
