Food official scared of extortionists

Armed cadres of outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP-Janajuddho) demanded Tk 10 lakh as illegal toll from food official SM Amjad Hossain or 'face death' for failure in conceding their demand.

'I have confined myself in my three-storied house on Babu Khan Road which came under bomb attacks on July 16 and 25. Threat also came through cell phone', Amjad told this correspondent expressing his reluctance to file case.
