Sromojibi Mukti Andolon not linked to Gono Mukti Fouz

A good number of leaders and activists of SMA attended the press conference, held at Kushtia Reporters Unity office.

In a written statement it said SMA is not an armed off-shoot of any organisation. It is struggling in democratic way for 'freedom of the proletariat', the statement.

The leaders blamed the government for closing down mills and factories in the country and demanded immediate opening of Kushtia Mohini Mill, Kushtia Textile Mill and government initiative for smooth running of Kushtia Sugar Mill, Renwick and Jogyeswar Company Ltd.

They also alleged that BRB Cable Ltd, a big cable industry in the district, is trying to grab 30 acres of cropland of other people.

SMA Kushtia district Convenor Jalal Biswas, Joint Convenor Jahangir Alam, Noor Islam Mia Ranju, central leader Babul Biswas, Khulna leader Nuru Patwari, Bogra leader Abdur Rashid and Dr. Israil Hossain were present at the press conference.
