In Singair upazila, only three dealers were brought under the OMS programme while at least 19 dealers should have been engaged to cover all the 11 unions, disclosed genuine dealers.

Moreover, most of the dealers are ruling BNP men, who are doing irregularities while selling rice.

The food department officials changed the list of OMS dealers under political pressure, alleged some dealers.

On contact, Manikganj District Controller of Food Muhammad Sirajul Islam said a team is supervising the distribution work of OMS rice and preventing black marketing of rice.
