CU Syndicate forms body to suggest ways
The 353rd meeting of the Syndicate have recommended cancellation of certificates of some 2400 Chittagong University graduates as their certificates were allegedly doctored.
In 1996, the CU authorities had formed a probe committee detected that LLB and Degree (Pass) certificates of 2400 graduates were tampered..
The five-member committee is headed by Prof Dr. Md. Abdul Hakim of Political Science Department.
The Syndicate meeting lasted seven hours from 10:30am.
The meeting asked Prof Dr. Md. Abdul Hakim to submit a report by one month.
Other members of the committee are--Prof Quazi Mostain Billah of English, Arts Faculty Dean Prof Md. Sirajul Islam, Law Faculty Dean Morshed Mahmud Khan and Head of Computer Science Department Prof Dr. Md. Nurul Mostafa.
The meeting also finalised appointment of seven new lecturers and regularised services of two lecturers in the department of Law.
Vice Chancellor Prof AJM Nuruddin Chowdhury chaired the meeting. Among others, Pro VC Prof Dr. M Shamsuddin and other Syndicate members were present.
