3 killed in Kushtia, Chuadanga

Of them two persons were killed in Kushtia and Chuadanga by outlaws while another was killed over land dispute in Kushtia.

A young man was killed over land dispute at Belgachi village in Mirpur upazila in Kushtia.

According to police, Zafar Ali Khan and Abul Hossain of the village had rivalry over a piece of land for a long time. On the day, Manir Hossain, son of Zafar Ali and Saidul, son of Abul Hossain were engaged in altercation over the issue.

At one stage, Saidul beat up Manir severely. He was shifted to local health complex where he died.

A case was filed with Mirpur Thana.

In another incident, outlaws killed a hatchery owner at Dohokola village in Sadar upazila.

A gang allegedly belonging to Taleb Ali, cadre of an outlawed party killed Ibrahim Hossain, 30, son of Sahar Ali, owner of a hatchery at the village.

Police, however, could not tell the reason of the murder.

A case was filed.

In Chuadanga, outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP-ML) shot dead a businessman at Siyalmari village in Alamdanga upazila in the early hours of Thursday. The businessman is Alim Uddin, 38.

Police said a gang of PBCP cadres stormed into Alim's house and took him to a nearby field where they shot at him point blank. Alim died on the spot.

Later, the PBCP outfit claimed responsibility for the killing.

Victim's relatives told the PBCP-ML cadres demanded extortion amounting to Tk 50,000 from Alim, but he denied to pay the money.

Police recovered the body and sent it to Chuadanga sadra hospital for autopsy.

A case was filed with Alamdanga Thana.
