Woman killed for dowry

The victim is Sufia Begum, 20.

According to villagers and police sources, since marriage of Sufia with Md Mustafa, family members of Mustafa were creating pressure on Sufia for dowry. On the fateful day, Mustafa along with his mother started beating pregnant Sufia. At one stage she became unconscious. Then Mustafa dropped his wife in the emergency room of Brahman-baria Sadar Hospital where she died. Sufia's husband and in-laws fled from the house.

The autopsy of the body was done at the same hospital.

Sufia's father filed a case accusing six persons with Brahmanbaria Sadar police.

However, accused persons are yet to be arrested.
