Victim's father rejects judicial inquiry report
Nokrek filed a 'Narajee petition' with the court rejecting the report.
First class magistrate AKM Muklesur Rahman of Tangail submitted his report to the authorities concerned on November 17. In the report the magistrate said that Modhupur Thana police and forest guards were not involved in the killing.
Piren was shot dead in an anti-eco park procession in Modhupur forest area on January 3 this year. Local people said Modhupur Thana Police and forest guards fired gunshots on the procession. Piren was shot
dead on the spot and 25others were injured. After the killing Nokrek filed a killing case with Tangail
magistrate court accusing nine officers and employees of Modhupur police station and Tangail Forest Department including Divisional Forest Officer of Tangail Forest Division Abu Hanif Patuary and earswhile Officer-in-Charge (OC) of of Modhupur Police Station Abu Jafar Alam.
A judicial inquiry was ordered and first class magistrate of Tangail Muklesur Rahman was given the task of submission of inquiry report within a stipulated time.
Ajoy Mree, President of Modhupur Adibashi Adhiker Samgram Committee told this correspondent that the inquiry report was not acceptable to them.
