Security alert at Benapole check post

BDR forces have been put on high alert and directed to intensify patrol duty along the border so that any criminal or saboteur can not enter the country.

Men and women crossing the border are being checked by metal detectors.

Luggage of passengers travelling by bus, private cars and other transports are also being checked in the same manner, top official of Jessore police said when contacted over phone yesterday.

Extra checkposts have been set up at different points on the Jessore-Benapole highway to check bus passengers, particularly those who travel to India or come to Bangladesh.

Strict checking is also going on at Benaole immigration office, he said.
