Wife strangled for dowry

According police and hospital sources, Sirajul Islam used to torture his wife Hasina Begum often for dowry though he got a big amount of money as dowry during their marriage in 1998.

On Friday, tortured Hasina was taken to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital where she died.

Autopsy of the body was done at the hospital. The report said she was strangled. Her father has filed a case with Brahmanbaria Sadar thana accusing her husband and his family members.

Police said they could not arrest any body as the accused are absconding.
