Body exhumed after 65 days of 'unnatural' death

The victim is Ashkor Ali of Gapinathpur village in Monirampur upazila.

According to police and local people, Ashkar Ali,65, lost his first wife following her death. Later, he married again against the will of his son and relatives. He also registered his property in favour of his second wife. This has angered his sons Abu Bakk and Zabed Ali. They tactfully sent their stepmother to her relative's house. At night they strangled their father and threw the body in pond. Next evening, they recovered the body and circulated that their father had committed suicide. They hurriedly buried him without autopsy on October 9. Their stepmother lodged a case accusing Abu Bakkar and Zabed Ali as killers of her husband.
