Swanirbhar Brahmanbaria places 15-point demand

The demands include supply of gas to villages in Brahmanbaria, uninterrupted power supply in the district from Ashuganj Power Station, formation of new upazila comprising 10 unions in the eastern part of Brahmanbaria Sadar upazila, upgrading Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital to a 500 bed hospital and supply of fetiliser to farmers in Brahmanbaria at cheaper rate from Ashuganj factory.

Farid Ahmed, chief coordinator of the Anduhan and a leader of Brahmanbaria unit of Jatia Okkey Manch, addressed the press conference.

Andolon leaders Prof Emdad, Abdul Motalib, Safayat Jamil, advocate Abdur Rauf and Moshiur Rahman were also present.

They also demanded expansion of the area of BSCIC industrial estate and re-excavation of silted rivers in the district.

The said Brahmanbaria, linked with rest of the country with rivers and roads, can be turned into an industrial town if all necessary facilities are provided.
