Aman output 4 lakh MT short of target in 5 N dists

The districts are Nilphamari, Kurigram, Rangpur, Lalmonirhat and Gaibandha.

According to the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE), Gaibandha, 75,151 hectares of land had been fixed for aman cultivation while its production target was fixed at 13 lakh 92 thousand 401 tonnes.

According to he DAE, 11 lakh 14 thousand 500 tonnes of aman paddy had been produced this season against the target of nearly 14 lakh tonnes.

The fall in production was mainly due to prolonged natural calamities.
