More villages in B'baria, Patuakhali sanitised
Our Brahmanbaria Correspon-dent reports: Shahbazpur Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Md Abdul Khaled on Friday declared Shah-bazpur union under Sarail upazila totally sanitised.
The declaration came at a meeting held at Shahbazpur Union Parishad (UP). He presided over the meeting while Brahmanbaria Superintendent of Police (SP) ATM Tareque was present as chief guest. Sarail Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Rafiqul Islam was present as special guest.
Among others, Khandaker Atikuzzaman, Union Supervisor of GOB-UNICEF Project and Md Mahfuzur Rahman, Sarail Upazila Coordinator of GOB-UNICEF Project addressed the meeting.
All the family members of 4,483 households in the union use sanitary latrines.
Our Patuakhali Correspondent reports: Nine villages in Galachipa upazila were brought under sanitation system, according to an announcement of Galachipa upazila Nirbahi officer (UNO) Mezbah Uddin on Friday.
The villages are Char Chandrail, Katakhali, Boalkhali, Chaltabunia, Baher Char, Gramuddin, Kalikqpur, Koralia and Boalia.
Two NGOs, Dhaka Ahsania Mission and Community Develop-ment Centre, in collaboration with Union Parishad and Danish aid agency Danida jointly implemented the sanitation project, according to Galachipa upazila administration.
