2 killed, 25 hurt in B'baria road accident
Two persons were killed and 25 others were injured when a bus fell in to a roadside ditch at Shuhilpur village, 6 kilometre as off the district town yesterday.
One of the dead victims was identified as freedom fighter Abdul Awal, 52, an employee of the District Sports Office while the other one could not be identified.
Being informed, a police team headed by Superintendent of Police (SP) ATM Tareque rushed to the spot. The bus was salvaged from the ditch with a crane of Titas Gas Field.
Of the injured persons, 20 were sent to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital and five others were sent to Sarail Upazila Health Complex and private clinics in Brahmanbaria.
The condition of Kamrul, 35, Suraf, 40, Nazmul, 35, Bipul Ranjan Chakrabarti, 18, Arzoo Mia, 55, and Hasem Mia, 45, were stated to be critical.
The driver and the helper escaped from the spot.
