Indefinite court boycott by Kurigram lawyers

Lawyers in Kurigram on Wednes-day began an indefinite court boycott protesting alleged misbehaviour of a judge with a Lawyers Association leader.

They also gave a seven-day ultimatum to the administration for removal of the judge from the court.

According to eyewitnesses, Senior Assistant Judge of Kurigram Sadar Court Yusuf Ali misbehaved with the President of Kurigram Lawyers Association advocate Idris Ali at his chamber on Tuesday.

They had an altercation. At one stage of altercation, Yusuf Ali rebuked Iddris Ali and asked him to leave his chamber.

Being informed, other lawyers rushed to the judge's chamber went on rampage there. Police rushed to the court and brought the situation under control.

Aggrieved lawyers held a protest meeting on the court premises and took the decision of court boycott.
