CPB does not want AL in power again

His party has launched a simultaneous movement with Awami League only to dislodge the four-party alliance government because it is sheltering fundamentalists, Mujahidul Islam told a public meeting at Chowuhana in Moulvibazar town recently.

Presided over by CPB's Moulvi-bazar district president Khandaker Lutfur Rahman, the meeting was also addressed by its President Monjurul Ahsan Khan, Presidium member Syed Abu Zafar Ahmed and local party leaders Nilimesh Ghose Bolu and Saleh Elahi Kuti.

Mujahidul Islam said Awami League is now trying to get blessings from the US government.

"Bangabandhu's Awami League and Sheikh Hasina's Awami League are not same.

"Sheikh Hasina has brought the party far away from the ideology and principle of Bangabandhu".

The CPB (Communist Party of Bangladesh) leader also criticised the "misrule" by the BNP-led alliance government. About 7500 factories have been closed and law and order has deteriorated after takeover by the government, he alleged.

He urged Prime Minister Khaleda Zia to drop Rajakars from the Cabinet.

The communist leader told the people that neither BNP nor Awami League would change their lot. People will have to find out an alternative platform. CPB always fought and will fight for rights of the toiling masses, he said.

After the meeting, a big procession led by CPB leaders was brought out in the town.
