Prompt police action foils bus dacoity bid

Acting on a tip off, two police teams led by Brahmanbaria Sadar thana OC Md Ismail and Debidwar thana OC Abul Kalam Azad stopped a bus and arrested six inter-district dacoits at about 4 am Monday. The bus was coming to Brahmanbaria from Chittagong.

Police identified the alleged dacoits as Shahin Mia, Ahmed Ali, Abdus Salam, Ahmed Ali, Md Hanif, Abdus Salem; Nazir Hossain, and Abul Kalam.

A case was filed with Debidwar thana. Police said the arrested persons were wanted in several cases filed with different thanas in Comilla and Brahmanbaria districts.
