Youth gets life for murder after rape

The judge handed down the punishment to Shafiqul Mondal, 20, son of Moyen Mondal of Bhaina village in Harinakundu upazila for killing Chickdana, 15, after rape in August 2002.

He had lured her to a cinema and then took her to the house of Waziuddin at Kulbaria in the same upazila. She was strangled there after rape. The girl hailed from Joradah village, adjoining Bhania.
