Hill District Councils may demand more benefits

The chairmen and members of Hill District Councils (HDCs) of Rangamati and Khagrachhari at a meeting here on Saturday decided to place a demand to the government for enhancement of their remuneration and discussed some proposals for strengthen HDCs.

They did not take final decisions as Bandarban HDC chairman and members could not attend the meeting due to hartal. Another meeting will be held next month where final decisions will be taken, said Rangamati HDC member U Sa Hla Roaza after the meeting.

The meeting was held at the conference room of Rangamati HDC.

The meeting participated by Chairmen of Rangamati and Khagrachhari HDCs Dr. Maniklal Dewan and Naksatryalal Dev Burmon while HDC members from Khagrachhari Mohammed Harun and Anupam Tripura and U Sa Hla Roaza from Rangamati joined, sources said.
