Hartal: 32 AL men sued for 'vandalism'

Our Netrakona Correspondent reports: A case has been filed against 30 Awami League (AL) leaders and activist including Bajitpur upazila AL convenor Sheik Nurunnabi Badal and former upazila Chairman Alaul Haque for pre-hartal clashes with BNP activists on Wednesday.

AL leaders Mobarak Hossen and Mostafa Kamal and Bajitpur upazila Juba League President Golam Rasul Daulat have also been accused in the case filed by Bajitpur upazila BNP secretary Abul Fazal Hossen with Bajitpur thana.

On the other hand Bajitpur upazila Juba League President Golam Rasul Daulat said he went to the thana to file a case against 17 BNP leaders and activists for attacking an AL procession on the day but police did not record it.

Mentionably, eight people were injured in a clash between pro -and anti-hartal activists at Bajitpur on Wednesday last.

Our Satkhira Correspondent reports: Two Awami League activists were sued in a case filed with Assassuni thana under the Speedy Trial Act for ransacking a fish loaded truck at Assassuni upazila headquarter during hartal hours on Thursday.

Police had arrested the two AL activists from the sport. They are Mahitur Rahman and Babul Akhtar.

Police said, pro-hardel activists ransacked the truck loaded with fish fry. Police rushed to the spot and batoned the AL activists, leaving eight injured.
