More protests against bomb attack at Khulna Press Club
They brought out processions and held rallies demanding a punishment to the culprits and immediate government steps to stop such incidents.
Our Rangamati Correspondent reports: Journalists here brought out a silent procession condemning the attack.
They also protested, what they termed 'police atrocity' on the editor of local daily 'Parbattya Barta' and other journalists while doing their professional duty in Dhaka and Chittagong.
Senior journalists AKM Moksud Ahmed and Sunil Kanti Dey addressed a meeting organised after the procession in front of the Deputy Commissioner's (DC) office. They also submitted a memorandum
to the Prime Minister through Rangamati DC Dr Jafar Ahmed Khan.
BSS reports from Rajbari: Local journalists held a meeting at Rajbari Press Club. The meeting was presided over by club president Abu Musa Biswas.
Speakers demanded immediate arrest and punishment to the criminals involved with the incident.
Among others, AKM Sirajul Alam Bhuiyan, Mosharraf Hossain, Khan Mohammad Jahurul Haque, Kazi Abdul Kuddus, Jahangir Hossain, Prof Akbar Ali Mia, Prof ATM Rafiq Uddin, Rimon Rahman, Mominul Islam Manu, and Shahidul Islam addressed the meeting.
Rajbari Press Club members also brought out a procession after the meeting that ended at the local court building.
Our Jessore Correspondent reports: The Jessore Journalists Union held a protest rally at Daratana square in the town on Tuesday protesting the bomb attack.
President over by JUJ president Mohidul Islam Montu, the rally was addressed by, among others, by BFUJ Secretary Ruhul Amin Gazi, Fakir Shaukat, Aninda Islam, Saiful Islam Sajal, Anwarul Kabir Nantu, Benjir Khan and SM Sohel.
The speakers demanded immediate arrest of the persons involved in the bomb attack and warned of tougher action programme for failure.
