Youth held for hunting deer
Forest officials arrested a youth with two unauthorised guns from Tengrakhal in Patharghata upazila in Barguna Monday night for hunting deer in the Sundarbans.
Arrested Masud Parvez Tipu, 26, was handed over to Patharghata police with the guns and ammunition.
Police said one of the guns (no.15000) belonged to one Md Selim and the other (no. 34867) to Alam Kazi
Masud also confessed to police that he along with some of his friends had borrowed the guns and hunted two deer in the Sundarbans.
He named them as Belayet, Hamid, Sohel and Alam but they escaped with the hunted deer in a trawler when forest staff led by Abdul Kader approached them.
