RU new recruits agitate inside admin building
The newly recruited 546 employees of Rajshahi University (RU) yesterday staged a demonstration inside the administrative building and held a meeting there demanding immediate confirmation of their jobs.
Earlier, they brought out a procession and paraded the main streets on the campus.
At a meeting, they said they will announce a fresh agitation programme if their jobs are not confirmed by February 15. The meeting was presided over by Rafiqul Islam Sarder.
The High Court earlier stayed their 'controversial' recruitment following a case filed by Abu Aslam, a lawyer, last year.
Their recruitment through alleged irregularity sparked a controversy on the campus.
